Podcamp Montreal: Do Something You’ve Never Done Before
September 24, 2008 – 2:11 am | by Daryl TayAttending Podcamp Montreal, I was inspired by both Mitch Joel and CC Chapman’s challenge to do something you’ve not tried before, and in my case, that would be a full on video post so here is mine, extending on a theme mentioned at the same session about ranting and calling companies out online. In line with “podcasting from the heart” I did this in one take with no edits. Let me know what you thought and if you’d like to see more of this!

Way to go Daryl. Very proud of you for trying out something new. Doing something like this, especially on video, is not as easy as many people think, but I’m psyched you gave it a whirl.
Reminds me I should do another One Guy’s Thoughts soon.
Where I find it helpful to rant is when I’m being constructive in the criticism so that others can join in and we can talk about. Ultimately it would be great if the brand was listening as well.
I also find that I tend more to complain about a brand that I like/love or really want to see succeed. By questioning something I’m not happy about it is hopes that they will fix it, change it or at least listen about it and then move forward.

@CC: Thanks for the encouragement! It wasn’t easy but after getting it done, I’m sure it’ll be easier each subsequent time. I’m in agreement with you there, although recent incidents (Delta Skelter with Jaffe) has shown that maybe just listening isn’t enough!

I think just coming from Singapore to Kingston and then making the trip to Montreal was something unique enough!
