About Me
So this is me, Daryl Tay, currently finishing a business degree in the Singapore Management University (SMU), majoring in marketing and corporate communications.
I talk a lot about social media on this blog because it fascinates me how the internet and all these tools bring people together, and facilitate as well as enhance communication. This passion over social media got me to start Social Media Breakfast | Singapore with Derrick Kwa, which I’m proud to say has grown internally and externally since we first started in March.

I have a thing for all things media. Walk into my room and you’ll see books and graphic novels and DVDs everywhere. When we moved in this corner of my room was meant to be a wardrobe. I said to hell with that, squeezed all my clothes into two towers, and opted for a library instead.
My love for media extends to my activities in school as well, where I “work” in SMU Broadcast & Entertainment. I host a radio show, dabble in TV productions, do live hosting and help out with backstage stuff. I served a year as the director for music programming for the radio station, and another year as vice-president of the club.
My other passions include comic books, Lost, Star Wars and collecting more stuff than I can read or consume. I’ve also been a volunteer scout leader at my alma mater’s scout troop every week since 2005.
